Our “Holy Wisdom” icon was written by parishioner Margaret Girdwood, Obl. O.S.B, an Oblate affiliated with Prince of Peace Abbey, Oceanside, CA. She holds a degree in Fine Art and studied extensively the ancient art-style of Byzantine-Russian iconography. The layout is based on a mid-18th c. icon written at Novgorod, Russia. Through inspiration, most of the other figure work was added to express God’s wisdom going out into all the world building God’s Holy Church.
